My All-Time Favorite Learning Programs

| At Home Activities, Motherhood

I will never be a room parent, a Girl Scout leader, or anything resembling something crafty. I’m too impatient to be a teacher and too uninterested and/or untalented to make up my own lesson plans or learning programs. Needless to say, distance learning was hard for me. Hard. Even before the pandemic, I was struggling. […]

Congrats everyone! We’ve made it through to December 2020. Some states are back in lockdown, although fortunately, Hawaii is doing okay comparatively. While the vaccine has just starting to be supplied to the medical community and some extremely at-risk individuals, we will be nowhere near normal by Christmas. So Kani Kanoa Creative and Farmer’s Insurance […]

Lost cat found after 47 days: our family’s 2020 miracle

Today is Thanksgiving in the year 2020. Despite the crazy year, I have so much to be thankful for. But the fact that my cat Sushi is safe, healthy, and at home is perhaps the thing I am most thankful for this year. Because for 47 days that wasn’t the case. For 47 days my […]

Cause we’re rotten… to the core.
💞 La Vie 💞
A couples weeks ago we made it to the opening night of Orchids at the @halekulanihotel . I wanted to bring Em but was worried about what would happen if we were greeted with a tasting menu only option. While the waiter said their preference was for guests to order off of the tasting menu, they also were providing many of the dishes a la cart as well, which was perfect for Em to slowly eat her way through while the rest of the party had the tasting menu.
Happy national daughter’s day to all the daughters out there, but especially to my partner in crime this summer as we spent our lazy Saturday afternoons trying out various restaurants as ladies who lunch. @ruscellohawaii ended up being my daughter’s favorite spot and she begged us to go back over and over again. Between the views (from their outside dining area), the crayons and activity book menu, and a delicious take on one of her favorites (mac and cheese), it was a clear winner in her book. And any place where I can get good food, great service and a happy child-dining partner is a clear win in my book as well.
There was a media event when @restaurant_av first opened that a bunch of IG accounts I follow attended and posted about. The mouth watering pictures they posted on IG were still in my mind a couple hours later when my husband asked me “where do you want to go to celebrate your birthday?” Excitedly, I threw out the name #avrestaurant . He made the reservations but proceeded on teasing me for the next two weeks about how I, lover of all things meat and cheese, was going to celebrate my birthday at an all-vegan tasting menu restaurant. As we drove to dinner last night, I threw the question back at my husband of where he wanted to eat for his birthday. He named a bunch of steak restaurants as potential options. I jokingly said, “maybe we should hold off deciding until we try AV. You never know… you may pick it for your dinner.” He laughed and gave a jokingly “sure… we’ll see.”
Never forget. ❤️🇺🇸❤️
