| Hawaii Activities, Special Events

I am constantly amazed at how organizations and businesses in Hawaii have pivoted and found such creative ways to be there for charities, small businesses, families, and each other while making everyone’s health and safety a top priority. Such is the case with Show Aloha Land, a spectacular light show sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank. […]

Lost cat found after 47 days: our family’s 2020 miracle

| Motherhood

Today is Thanksgiving in the year 2020. Despite the crazy year, I have so much to be thankful for. But the fact that my cat Sushi is safe, healthy, and at home is perhaps the thing I am most thankful for this year. Because for 47 days that wasn’t the case. For 47 days my […]

Here are my tips, tricks, and advice for having the best time at Disney’s Aulani, even during a pandemic. Aulani Tip #1. Go on a Weekday I cannot stress this one enough. Waimanalo Country Farms’ Drive Thru Sunflower Event

| Hawaii Activities, Special Events

If you told me a month ago that I would spend the beginning of November counting down the days until my reservation for the Waimanalo Country Farms’ Drive Thru Sunflower Event, I would have thought you were crazy. But that was before I experienced their drive-thru pumpkin event. October was a pretty busy month for […]

| All Things Disney, Hawaii Activities

Going on vacation in 2020 means that when you return home the big question everyone wants to know isn’t “how was the weather?” or “what did you see?” Instead, the question I got from everyone was, “how did Aulani handle keeping everyone safe during the Covid-19 pandemic?” Aulani does a great job of laying everything […]

Best Food Options on the North Shore of O’ahu

| Eat the World, Hawaii Activities

On almost any given Labor Day weekend, you can find my family and me on the North Shore. Getting away from Honolulu to relax and recharge at the beginning of the school year has become our tradition. We love the laid back way of life and beautiful white sandy beaches, but mostly we love the […]

Outschool: Where you can learn to draw mermaids, sing like Elsa, rap like Hamilton, and study math and chemistry through a Hogwarts-like potions class

It’s been ninety-four days. Ninety-four days that I’ve worked a full-time job and kept my 6-year-old busy once her school closed to on-campus learning. I decided to write this post because I know this is a very common struggle. Eighty of those days were filled with her school’s distance learning program. If you are a […]

Reading Eggs: The program that taught my kid to read, and saved our mother-daughter relationship in the process

| At Home Activities

Extensive travel itineraries based on a year’s worth of research and planning? Fun! Travel booked with credit card rewards? Easy (or at least I’m getting the hang of it). New places and activities to experience with my family? Pretty much my entire parenting belief system. But the year (or at least 5 months so far) […]

Cliffs of Moher: A Must See for Any Ireland Vacation

| Travel the World

When I started planning this trip, I pictured nights at pubs, beautiful views of majestic green mountains, and mornings of sausage, eggs, grilled tomato and baked beans. I also pictured the Cliffs of Moher. I pictured standing on the edge of the cliff, looking out into the Atlantic Ocean and just taking in Ireland in […]

Dingle: a Destination and a Journey

| Travel the World

The road to Dingle Is omitting certain truths the same as lying? You are probably saying yes, but I am hoping to get an exemption in this case. At the very least, Bryan has forgiven me for this omission (I think). Here’s the deal. There are two ways for us to get to Dingle. From […]

Volcano Artist Cottage, located on the grounds of the @volcanogardenarts and @cafeonovolcano was a cozy house in the midst of a magical place full of secret gardens to explore and less than 10 minutes from Hawaii Volcano National Park.
Day trip up to Whitefish from Polson during our summer vacation to Flathead Lake, Montana. I loved that they had both chair and gondola lifts (and a lift for bikes as well).
A breakdown of our 1-day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom during Spring Break.
1 Day at EPCOT during Spring Break.
I’m not even the biggest Star Wars fan… but Galaxy’s Edge may be my favorite land in any of the Disney parks. Here’s how we rope dropped DHS during spring break (note: on the day we went, the park opened at 8:30 AM to the public and 8:00 AM to on-property guests).
So… I did a thing…. ⬆️
